It begins - research

I've been researching kegerators for 2 weeks and have learned a lot! I made the decision to build my own and look for the Sanyo 4912. It seems to be the easiest one to make a kegerator out of with hundreds of tutorials/guides on how to convert them.

I start on craigslist to see if I can hunt down a used one. I found a local person selling a Sanyo dorm sized fridge. I asked them if it was the model I was looking for (Sanyo 4912). I was completely surprised when they said it was! I headed over there that weekend to pick it up. When I arrived it looked like the one I was looking for. We threw it in the trunk and headed home. Shortly after I cleaned it up and started removing the trays I found out that it had a freezer tray. I look at the back of the fridge and it was NOT the 4912, it was Sanyo SR-4431S! I began doing research on any work-around to this problem. The fridge had the height, but not the width, so I could only fit 1 slim keg.

Here was the inside:
After posting on micromatic and homebrew forums, the majority voted get rid of it and get another fridge, while others said you may be able to bend the freezer tray to the back. I was debating on bending the freezer tray back, but if the freon line kinked or cracked - it was a lost cause. My ultimate decision was to get rid of it and do it the right way the first time.

I was disappointed that I didn't check this out before bringing it home. I contacted the seller and they would gladly take back, but fortunately I found someone to pick it up.
